Complete transparency
Doswell Law aims to be entirely transparent about its charges. It offers various charging options, including a competitive hourly rate and fixed fees.
The first initial telephone call with us is free of charge, where we will discuss with you the factual and legal issues surrounding your matter and suggest an appropriate course of action in accordance with your needs which would normally lead to an initial fixed fee advice meeting. A tribunal case may be suitable for a No Win No Fee Agreement subject to appropriate assessment by us.
Settlement agreements
Where you are being offered a settlement agreement and your employer is contributing to your legal costs, we guarantee that you will not be charged more than what your employer is prepared to contribute towards those costs for reviewing and advising you on the terms and effect of the agreement. If extensive negotiations are required they will normally be charged at our standard hourly rate. We will always provide you with a clear estimate of our charges before any additional work is completed.
Employment documents
Doswell Law offers fixed charges for reviewing your employment documents including your employment contract, service agreement or consultancy agreement including any post-termination restrictive covenants for example, a non-compete or non-solicitation of customers or suppliers.
Employment tribunal representation
Employment tribunal representation is normally charged at our standard hourly rate. We always provide a clear estimate of our charges at the start of the case and keep you regularly updated. A tribunal case may be suitable for a No Win No Fee Agreement subject to appropriate assessment by us.
Our charges for employment tribunal representation may be covered by legal expenses insurance (LEI). It can normally be found in your home contents insurance policy or car insurance policy or through your bank. You will normally be required to have completed ACAS Early Conciliation and be in receipt of an Early Conciliation Certificate allowing you to submit your employment tribunal claim.
It is important to note that legal expenses insurers will usually refer you to their preferred firm of solicitors. You have the right, however, to choose your own solicitor to represent you in the employment tribunal. We have considerable experience of dealing with legal expenses insurers on behalf of individuals. We will aim to ensure that funding is provided at the earliest possible stage of the employment tribunal proceedings.
